Select Sampling tap: Use a tap or small valve faucet. Avoid hoses, water fountains, taps with leaks or a swivel joint. Be sure to bypass any filters or softeners connected to tap.
Remove Aerator. They harbor bacteria that will affect the accuracy of the test.
Flush the tap (run cold water to the drain) for 1 minute, then turn off.
Sanitize nozzle thoroughly with provided sanitizing solution. Wait 2 minutes.
Flush tap again for 3-5 minutes. You need to adequately flush the pipes between the source and the tap.
Open sample bottle by removing the seal and opening with CLEAN/GLOVED hands. Do not touch the inside of the lid or bottle. Place lid face up on a clean surface. Leave any tablet or powder in the bottle; it is necessary.
Reduce flow to a very gentle stream. Fill the sample bottle to just above the 100 ml line being careful to avoid over filling. Please do not underfill or overfill as the volume is necessary for an accurate test.
